Thursday afternoon Cody, Danny, and I headed down south to catch the fourstar team bust out in cummings ga at tnt skatepark. The lineup for the demo was any skateboarders wet dream. Koston, BA, Malto, Puig, Carroll, Howard, and Bledsoe. IMO Brian Anderson won the demo but who am I to say who won. Malto did the most stunts but was disqualified from the running because before the demo even started everyone knew those tricks were coming. Koston was feeling like Mr. Funny with his trick selection. While Carroll and Schaf played the roll of to cool for school and didn't skate. But hell Carroll even makes sitting down look good. Howard drew the short straw so he was on film duty. Bledsoe was getting the most tech gnar out of the tribe with backtail flip outs and backsmith backside flips out. His mindfield part should be a winner. Puig did a huge backside noseblunt stall pop in on the bank to wall then wanted to do one switch on the quarter but it wasn't meant to be. Has anyone ever even done a switch backside noseblunt on tranny? Silas maybe. All in all the epicness factor was off the rector scale but I really don't think the team was feeling the vibe at the park to much. The music was obnoxious and to many hometown hero's trying to get the attention of some pros that could give two shits whether you can air out and over the skatepark or not. There was literally a kid trying to air out of the quarter through the garage door and out of the skatepark. Talk about a session killer. Oh well I got to see koston skate so my bucket list is minus one.
After the demo 24 hours of rain ensued. It was pretty late so we just decided to stay in cummings for the night. We had brought the always reliable tent with us and we found a perfect spot behind this church to set it up for the night. It rained all night but the tent held strong and we woke up suprisingly dry. The rain was was still coming down that morning so decided to drive to the woodward skatepark which is actually located in a mall so it doubles as a daycare for milfs to drop their kids off at while they buy themselves lingerie. I don't know about you but when I was growing up I didn't have a skatepark in my mall so I had to help my mom choose her lingerie and I think we are closer because of that. But the skatepark was a little slicker then the concrete we are used to so we all ate a lot of shit and pretty much just killed the whole day there due to the rain. That night we decided we weren't hesh enough to go another night without a shower. So we went back to the church praying to their god that our tent was still there and luckily it was So ere took that bitch apart in the rain and shoved it in the trunk of the max and hit up that motel 6. You cant really beat the $40 a night if you don't mind sheets that haven't been washed since nam. At the hotel I saw something quite ironic. It was a non smoking room but in the room there was an ashtray by the bed but the ashtray had no smoking printed on it.
The next morning we got up early and rolled to ambush for the game of hate they were putting on. So registration was at 9 but the advanced didn't get started till 1. So we had to sit there and watch the beginners games and these games would seriously go on for days. It was so painful to watch. So we just went inside the shop and they had beauty and the beast rolling on the big screen. I can respect that in a skateshop. Finally the advanced games started but I didn't even enter because I wanted to give everyone else a chance. Danny got knocked out in 47.3 seconds. After waiting 4 hours for that shit. Cody made it to the second round only to get devastated by some dude that could do every trick in THPS2 plus more. So we left ambush with no prize money I knew I should have entered. I would have took the paper. We headed into downtown atl to do some street style. We skated all over the A. It was danny's first time in the great city of atlanta so he was geekin over all the spots. After doing one huge lap around the city we had only one clip to show for it and danny blew pretty hard at getting the digi shots. So as always media is lacking. But I didn't leave empty handed I had a souvenir on my car when we got back to it. Said something about thanks for coming but I owe them $25 for illegally parking.
